Natural History
Group Exhibition
An exhibition of contemporary art works that examines our relationships to
the captivity inherent in the display of wild animals and indigenous people in
relation to the history of collecting, world fairs, museums and zoos, from the
colonial past to the present. The artists focus on the representation of
animals and the connection to empire, identity and evolution that is evident
from 17th century painting to early twentieth century natural history
displays.
